---- APPLYING MEMBER QUESTIONS:

I don't understand the application process, can someone explain it to me?

What do I do if my email address has not been verified? 

  • Your profile status page may indicate that your email address has not been verified. The verification email that was sent to you may have gotten lost or may have expired.
  • If this is the case then you can go to your profile status page and click on "send another" in the "Verify your email address" section. This will send another email that contains a link called "Verify my email address".
  • You must click on this link and then your email verification will be complete. If you are not currently logged in then you will be asked to log in in order to complete the process.

I don't know what to write for my bio, what should I do?

  • We recommend that you start by writing one or two sentences that answer the following two questions:
  • How long have you lived in Sebastopol?
  • What is one interesting fact about yourself that you could share?
  • Don't worry, It can be modified at any time. Once you are a member you can read other's bios for more ideas.

I never set a password and now I cannot log in, what do I do?

  • You can use the "Forgot password?" link on the home page to assign yourself a new password.

---- NEW MEMBER QUESTIONS:

How do I record my talents? 

  • On your Profile page you will see a section entitled "Timebankers' Talent Listings".
  • If you click on "Edit listings" you will be able to record your talents.
  • However you may want to post a specific offer of your talents which will then appear in the list of offers. On the right hand side of your screen you will see a link that says "Post offer".
  • If you choose to post an offer then you will be given the opportunity to add the selected service categories to your Timebankers' Talents listings.

How do I add or change my picture?

  • In order to change your picture using your computer first navigate to your Profile page. To get to your Profile page, click on your name near the top right corner and choose "My Profile".
  • The top left corner of the Profile page has an area for your photograph that we call the photo box. The photo box will contain your latest photograph, unless you have never uploaded a photo then it will just contain the outline of a head.
  • If you let your mouse hover over the photo box you will see a set of instructions. You can either drag and drop an image from your computer desktop or click on the photo box to select from the files on your computer.
  • To change your picture from a mobile device simply tap on the photo box and follow the instructions.
  • Once you have a photo uploaded you can rotate the photo by 90 degrees by clicking once on the circular rotate photo icon in the bottom right corner of the photo box.
  • PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR PICTURE SHOWS YOUR FACE!!

How do I record an exchange as the recipient of the service?

  1. Click on “Record an exchange” on the right hand side of your screen.
  2. Choose “I received the service”
  3. Type in at least part of the name of the person who provided the service. A selection of matches should be displayed (if there are any). Put your mouse over the name of the person who provided the service and then click on the small box with the black outline next to the name.
  4. Click on “Next step” button at the bottom of the screen.
  5. Click on the related service ad or choose “No associated service ad”.
  6. Make sure that the Description of service is accurate, select a service category, enter the number of hours then click on “Create exchange” at the bottom.

How do I record an exchange as the provider of the service?

  1. Click on “Record an exchange” on the right hand side of your screen.
  2. Choose “I provided the service”
  3. Type in at least part of the name of the person who received the service. A selection of matches should be displayed (if there are any). Put your mouse over the name of the person who received the service and then click on the small box with the black outline next to the name.

What are the new member time credits?

  1. Two hours for attending an entire orientation
  2. One hour for completing all aspects of your profile
  3. One hour for submitting a service offer
  4. One hour for submitting a service request
  5. One hour for every new member who joins after your referral

How do I collect my new member time credits? 

  • The time bank maintains an account that is similar to a member account. The name of this account is Sebastopol Area Time Bank.
  • You will record an exchange with yourself as the provider and the Sebastopol Area Time Bank as the recipient.
  • The time bank has posted requests related to these new member credits.
  • Take the steps described below to find these requests and claim your new member time credits.
  1. Click on the "Requests" option at the top of the screen.
  2. Click on the list called "All categories" and select "New member", you will see a list of the requests relating to new members.
  3. Find the appropriate request and click on the "Record an exchange" button for that request.
  4. Enter the appropriate number of hours and click on "Create Exchange".

---- GENERAL QUESTIONS

How do I keep my personal information private?

  • Your primary email address and your street address are both visible to either just coordinators or to the entire membership.
  • This choice is made by you in the privacy settings section on your profile page.
  • Your telephone number is visible to all active members - this cannot be changed.

Why can I not see all of my messages?

  • When a message is "grayed out" that only means that it has been read, the message is still fully accessible but you have to click on the subject (or the picture) to open it up. You cannot click on the message body.
  • Messages are grouped into conversations and only the most recent message in the conversation is displayed in the list.

How do I donate some or all of my hours?

  • Any member can donate hours to another member or to an organization member such as the Community Fund.
  • To do so, click on "Record an Exchange" from the menu on the right hand side of your screen.
  • Then choose "I received the service", enter the name of the member who will receive the donation and click on "Next step".
  • Click on "No associated service ad" then on the next screen enter a description of the service, for example "Donation to Mickey Mouse".
  • Choose the service category that says “Donate My Hours to a good cause", enter the number of hours and then click on “Create Exchange”.
